Information for End of Life

Sometimes we don’t want to think about the end of our pet’s life but being prepared and planning ahead can help ensure their final chapter is as peaceful and dignified as possible. As pets grow older, it’s important to focus on their comfort, happiness and overall well-being. We can use a quality-of-life scale to help determine this.

If your pet is struggling in several areas, it may be time to begin to think about end-of-life care. Knowing ‘when it’s time’ is one of the hardest decisions we face as pet owners but you don’t have to face it alone.

We’re here to support you with compassionate, honest advice and to talk through your options. We will do everything we can to help your pet be comfortable at the end of their life.

If euthanasia becomes the kindest choice, we’ll ensure the process is handled with care and respect, making your pet’s comfort our top priority. Saying goodbye is the hardest part of loving a pet. We understand that this decision can feel overwhelming.

Our team will take the time to talk through any questions you have and help you make the choice that’s right for your pet and your family.

Euthanasia is a gentle and painless way to allow your pet to pass peacefully when their quality of life has declined and treatment is no longer helping.

If you decide euthanasia is the kindest option, we can talk you through what to expect during the appointment if you wish. You can stay with your pet throughout or we can take care of everything for you.

You may find it helpful to think about what you would like to happen after your pet has passed before the euthanasia takes place.

We offer a range of aftercare options including communal and private cremation with the option to have your pet’s ashes returned to you. If you prefer to take your pet home for burial, we will support you with that decision.

We also offer keepsakes these include ink paw prints, ink nose prints and fur clippings.
